Up Close
This lovely cyclist zipped by us so close and so quickly I could barely get her photo. It's a pity that shorts season is coming to an end, she's rocking them with those ballet flats.
There is a bike lane all along the river in Florence. It's a great way to zip across town, and a great place for watching chic cyclists!

Winter Light

First thing I noticed was the drape of her skirt against her dark leg, then the grey mittened hands she was trying to keep warm.
When I spoke with her she graciously let me take her picture and I can show you her cute shoes, purple tights, and the lightness of the skirt which somehow makes this cold weather less horrible.
This morning's temperature 27 degrees "Feels like 16 degrees", winds from WNW at 15 mph, gusting to 20 mph (-5 degrees C, winds 26 km/h).

Why do I oddly love this photo?
Because she's not extraordinary. She's not a super model, she's not young or old, she's not wearing anything astounding, her bike is not special... There is nothing remarkable, yet it ends up lovely. There is something about riding a bike that transcends the details.
A classy lady
on a bike.
A tender breeze
flutters her jacket
in spring.
She's having fun. I am too.
