Two Tone Mixte

I loved this "swoopy" mixte for its Black & White color scheme. Why does Europe get all the funky mixtes?

I would love to ride this bike.

Is that an original or a road bike converted to a mixte?

Robert,
Some road bikes are mixtes, the property that makes them a mixte is how the tubes of the bike are arranged. To reference the master, Sheldon Brown:

Mixte: A style of frame in which the "top tube" consists of a pair of small diameter tubes running more-or-less straight from the upper head lug, past the seat tube, and on to the rear fork ends. A mixte frame thus has 3 sets of rear stays, instead of the usual two.

Old bikes like these are probably pretty common there. Imagine bringing a shipping container of old Europe bicycles here to the states. $$$

Interesting - This is a pretty similar aesthetic to what I see in Vienna, right down to the trash(?) left in the basket!
