Merci mille fois again to my friend E who sent in these photos a while ago. I'm certainly getting excited to visit France and go out adventuring. I don't plan to use the Velibs since I'll have my own bike with me, but I'll be excited to see how they've changed the city since we lived there.
There's something about all the Velibs in a row that reminds me of Easter Island.
I just love the scarf on the man in the background!
Leather jacket, ballet flats, sweet ladies' frame vélo de ville - this lady has it going on! I like the tonality of her look.
As E points out, a chic cyclist in training. Love her little fenders!
Check out the lugs on this swoopy mixte. It also has great racks and I love that little light on the front fender. Someday I will have one like it.

Have a good time on your holiday!
The "swoopy" mixte in the last picture -- in Vienna those are more common than mixtes with straight stays. Don't know why that is, but they certainly are pretty! Here is my post about them.
Don't forget to deflate the tires before you put it on the airplane! Otherwise you might be in for some tube repairs at CDG.
Heh, that sounds funny - "check out the lugs on that baby!" :)
Have a fantastic trip!
oH paris!... our nighttime downhill ride from Montmartre to the Eifel tower was great!
i'm already craving Laduree and Gerard Mulot patisseries!
cant wait for pics a la velib..
How exciting! I am so looking forward to your posts form Paris!I too lived in Paris for a good part of a year. Ah the memories.
Have a wonderful time!
How come girls in Liverpool never look as good on their bikes, we need a bit of Parisian style right here in the North West
I also loved the father helping his little girl learn how to balance on a bicycle. That was simply adorable, and a classic shot about parenting, and parental love and guidance.
