The Boston Bikes party this morning was a happening scene, and I was overwhelmed by all the people, all the bikes, all the stalls of bike goodness. It was more bike love than I could take in at one moment. Thank you all!
This beautiful cyclist is one of the most frequent contributors and commenters on this blog. I was thrilled to finally meet her in person. I don't know if you can tell, but she's sporting fishnets. I was drooling on her basket, it was terribly embarrassing. And yes, I think the banner is right - Boston wants it.
Nicole Freedman was also out taking bike photos. She spotted this beautiful bike before I did - add excellent photographer to the long list of things that she does well.
Here's my best-dressed gentleman. He's wearing the hat that all the young men are sporting now. In his case I think the hat is as old as these young men who are co-opting the look. Anyway, I think he looks great and I'm glad he's out on a bike.
These two gentlemen are working on a petition to plow the Franklin Park bike path in the winter. I love the incongruity of those clipless shoes with a suit!
What a great morning! Happy Bike Week!

Looks Like a lot of fun was had by all. The bike in the first picture is almost exactly like my grandmothers apart from the basket, She has passed away now but her bike is still in perfect working order after god knows how many years of use I have to admit as much as I love mountain bikes the bike pictured definately do stand the test of time
this week is one of the only weeks when I wish I had a office to bike to. looks like a lot of fun.
Looks like it was a good time - sorry I missed it. Thanks for posting the photos.
The man in the picture with the Velorbis is the 'Man in Black' from your post on April 13th, if I'm not mistaken.
I love the 'Boston Wants It' picture. She's absolutely stunning and would look right at home on the streets of Copenhagen or Amsterdam.
One last bit of 'bike love' - I found out today that the Liberty Hotel (the old Charles Street jail) has courtesy bikes available for their guests. I saw a rather dapper old gent on an Electra Amsterdam with a Liberty Hotel sign hanging off the front mounted basket. A quick call to my wife to check of their website confirmed that they do have bikes for their guests to use whilst they are staying at the hotel.
Cheers,
Pat
Wow, Pat, you're good! She *is* stunning, he is the man in black, and I just posted the Liberty Hotel photos I took after the party.
Have a great weekend everyone!
I wish I could have been at this wonderful event! What bicycle is that on the arm of the beautiful fishnet-clad cyclist? The bicycle in the second photo is a lovely Gazelle from Dutch Bikes in Somerville.
A bike party! How great. I would definitely attend one where I live. Bike to Work Week just wore me out. I could use a nap.
Yep, that's me in the second photo with my trusty Velorbis. ;) I am flattered that you took my picture as the "Man in Black." Just found your blog today, and will definitely keep following it. Great writing and photos!
