Slap Bracelets are Trousers Cuffs
When I was in 6th grade these slap bracelets were popular. They ended up getting prohibited at school because they make too much noise when every girl in class is obsessively slapping her bracelet all day.
Amusingly, when I asked the Claire's Boutique employee if I could photograph her product, she told me that I was the second person that day who was interested in these bracelets as a cycling trouser cuff.

Not that I would know, but if I remember correctly, these things didn't really have the grip strength necessary to keep trousers in place while bicycling.
Not that I would know.
I use slap bracelets to increase reflectivity on my bike and if needed they work ok as a trouser cuffs.
hee hee-
I don't really need trouser cuffs because of my chain case, but it's so funny to see stuff like this coming back again. I feel old, but also kind of sheepish- is that really the kind of stuff I used to wear??
I had to look up what the hell a slap bracelet was. I feel old.
I loved slap bracelets! I had one that was supposed to be the map of the world, although how they did that on a thin strip is confusing now. If I ever see any, I'm totally buying them up.
I actually have a couple of reflective slap bracelets that I bought in a cycling shop. The don't work that well to hold trousers in place but they are highly visible!
Hey, was that picture taken in Cambridge at the Galleria a few weeks back? If so, then I am the other person who expressed interest in these as cycling gear.....
Interesting......
This is a terrific idea! But I used a mini-bungee chord instead.
The slap bracelet does have fashion possibilities though. When you wear it on your wrist when you're not cycling, people in-the-know realize that you're a cyclists!
Anonymous, yes indeed - we must have missed each other by 20 minutes, tops.
